ACNE SCAR TREATMENT

Diamond Laser Scalpel

39 year old Treese Lynn Curtzer wanted to rejuvenate and refresh her look. She says her eyes were in desperate need of a pick-me-up. But, given her hectic schedule she was concerned that plastic surgery would set her back.
“I am a flight attendant and I have three small children so I can’t afford to be laying in bed for a week,” says Treese.

Doctors determined that Treese was a candidate for cosmetic eye surgery and in an effort to help her recuperate more quickly, the new diamond laser scalpel was used during the procedure. (Read more)

Researchers have discovered a novel way to increase the potency of Botox, which would translate into less frequent injections and perhaps even enhancing its cosmetic benefits, and it might mean lower prices for the popular wrinkle-remover.

In a medical setting, small doses of the Botox toxin causes localized, temporary paralysis that erases wrinkles and unwanted muscle spasms.

The researchers developed a synthetic molecule that can ‘super-activate’ the neurotoxin, thereby increasing the toxin’s paralyzing effect by as much as 14 times that of the untreated toxin. (Read more)

If a man has a small, low grade, or not highly aggressive prostate cancer, delaying surgery -- even for years -- does not appear to increase the risk of the disease progressing to an incurable form.

That's according to a 10-year Johns Hopkins study published in the latest issue of the Journal of the National CancerIinstitute.

It found the risk of noncurable prostate cancer -- defined as a less than 75 percent chance of remaining disease-free 10 years after surgery -- was the same for men receiving immediate surgical treatment and those who waited -- on average -- two years before having surgery. (Read more)

Thirty-one year old Kristi Rook says she has tried every lotion, potion and fad diet in the book, but, she just can’t get rid of her cellulite.

Post Pregnancy Tune Up

As a new mom, Kristin Mackey has learned the drill…diaper changing marathons, countless feedings and burpings…but, what she still can’t grasp is the metamorphosis of her body, post pregnancy. “I had some broken capillaries in my face, you get like this little pouch that won’t go away, and some cellulite in some unmentionable places,” says Kristin.
